About the Event

Timely, high-quality, and disaggregated data are vital to supporting effective monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and decision-making. However, much of the data available is either lacking, out-of-date, or not internationally comparable. The Data For Now initiative, launched in September 2019, aims to address these challenges through collaboration and partnership, technical and capacity support, and information sharing and is led by four core partners: SDSN TReNDS, The World Bank, the UN Statistics Division, and the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data. On the sidelines of this year's UN Statistical Commission, the core partners and pilot countries involved in the initiative will present progress to date and expansion plans moving forward, as well as key elements of the initiative for a broader discussion among National Statistics Offices and other partners.
